About The Honours
Having launched the Michelin-starred Restaurant Martin Wishart in 1999, Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond in Cameron House Hotel in 2008 and his exclusive Cook School in 2007, Martin opened The Honours Brasserie to great acclaim in 2011.
Martin aims to further strengthen Scotland's reputation for good food and to inspire others with his unequivocal enthusiasm for the very best traditional and modern French cuisine. The Honours Brasserie represents the exciting next step of his journey.
The restaurant's name makes reference to the moment in Scottish history when Sir Walter Scott — who lived nearby — uncovered the Scottish Crown Jewels, also known as The Honours of Scotland.
In addition, the name owes a debt to a rare 18th century book, "the Honours of the Table". In this celebrated volume, the author, Rev. Dr. John Trusler, advised the youth of the day on table etiquette, exclaiming that: "To do the honours of a table gracefully, is one of the outlines of a well-bred man..."

Difficult night with number of cancellations therefore atmosphere a bit restricted. Having said that staff were fantastic and as usual food was wonderful. No hesitation in recommending to others and definitely be back.
i didnt actually get to go but my family did and were looked after beautifully remains one of my all time favourite venues
Our favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. The food is excellent - only surpassed by the service. The staff make your meal an occasion to remember. As usual our meal on Saturday was memorable. Try it if you have not already. You will not be disappointed.
Excellent as usual.
Excellent meal, well served in every respect. Many thanks.
First time at the restaurant and it certainly won’t be the last. The service here is absolutely outstanding. The food was presented beautifully but more importantly it tasted delicious. Thank you.
The usual good food and service and friendly staff
While I have been to the restaurant a number of times, it was the first time that my girlfriend had been. The food we had was exemplary and could not be faulted in any way, with a stunning contrast of colours as well as flavours. The service was also excellent across the entire team and something that other Edinburgh restaurants should be aspiring to. Apparently, this will now be our restaurant of choice when we decide to treat ourselves, which I believe me be quite regularly!
Attended the cocktail and cookery masterclass and then had lunch. Experience was excellent and lunch exemplary. Best of all were all the staff whose knowledge and expertise made the day. Will definitely recommend.
A wonderful experience where the sum of all parts works well together. Fantastic service and food at a worthy price.
Warm welcome, friendly service and lovely food for our Scotland v. France Six Nations lunch - and a great result!
We had an absolutely wonderful evening that we would love to repeat. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food simply delicious.
Not for the first time, the Honours surpassed expectations ( which were high )! It is not the cheapest meal in Edinburgh, however, it is consistently one of the best. Wonderful, easy atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff finish off a tremendous place to eat.
Excellent dining experience, nothing to fault it!
Perhaps we arrived at a busy time? Took ages to order a drink and thereafter service incredibly friendly but spasmodic.
Wonderful food and a great service in the heart of Edinburgh
Always good but the menu would benefit from a bit more variety. This is probably why we don't go more often even though we always enjoy The Honours. Reliably good.
Cannot fault the service and quality of food. Pork belly dish with black pudding was delicious. The coffee ice-cream was a lovely end to the meal. Great touch with a birthday card for me wife.
Consistently great quality of food and service.
Food and service are top notch
Food was nice Although the special of the day described by the waitress stated lyonnaise potatoes was served with new potatoes and when questioned I was told the chef decided to do a twist on lyonnaise pots with new pots and green beans ..... really No attention to detail from the waiting on staff although pleasant
Always warm and welcoming, with a varied and changing menu, always delicious. Our favourite place to eat.
Very enjoyable evening. Service is first class.
